Tim de Bruijn

Tim de Bruijn is urban designer. He has a Bachelor of Urban Design and is working on obtaining a master’s degree at the Rotterdam Academy of Architecture. He has work experience in various places. During the bachelor studies, he interned at Rietveld Architects in New York and at dS + V Rotterdam (center section). After the study, he spent over one year as an assistant designer at the dS + V Rotterdam where he worked for different areas of the city. This included in particular the existing urban area outside the center. He then spent one and a half year at KuiperCompagnons in the Van Nelle Factory in Rotterdam. Here he gained experience with large-scale plans at home and abroad and also with the processes such plans take. He then worked one year at BVR Adviseurs. Here he worked on several complex projects in existing urban areas at various locations in the Netherlands. He then made a few months a work placement at ‘De Zwarte Hond’ and studied the urban centers of Vancouver and Hamburg and compared it to that of Rotterdam. Currently he works alongside his work for Studio B Central as public information officer at City Promotion Center Rotterdam.info. Here he gives information on architecture and urbanism in Rotterdam to residents, visitors and groups.
